On the 27th of March Ebbw Vale Learning Action Centre was transformed into a antenatal roadshow calling all expecting parents to be to come along and pick up some useful tips on what becoming a parent may involve. The main aim of the event was to raise awareness of low birth weight babies and the reasons why this may occur so expceting mums could make informed choices to lower the risk of this occuring in thier pregancies.

Blaenau Gwent Youth Service Reach Out for Sexual Health headed up the event with support from a range of projects, & service providers supported by funding from the Health & Wellbeing Grant.

Over 30 expecting parents and partners attended the event supported by 15 services & organisations who gave their time to make the day a sucess.

The day was kicked off by presentations from a midwife on child birth, followed by flying starts health vistitors on getting the best start for you new born. The day was then followed by information stalls for expecting parents to look at along with a free prize raffle of baby starter packs, car seats, toys and much more.
