BYG And LIFT Residential

On March the 30th of till the 1st of April the BYG group teamed up with members from the lift project to take part in a 3 day residentail down the scenic area of Pembrokshire. This trip was a reward for the hard work the group had put from the October half term till the end of March were the young people meet every Thursday from 5pm till 7pm to complete a number of health realted accreditated course and activties.

The group which was 16 young people from across the Blaenau Gwent area coverd topics such as:

  • Sexual Health & STI's
  • LGBT
  • Alcohol Misues
  • Drugs Misues
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Excercise

The group then were reward for thier hard work by 3 days away were the young people took part in high ropes & tree toppers course, paintballing & a day at Heatherton Activity park. The young people also go the opportunity to firm up the their ideas about how to set up a group for LGBT Young People and how this may work.

The young people really enjoyed the 3 days away and had the opportunity to spend one night on beach with a camp fire and toasting mashmallows and toast.
