Online Safety Competition

The South East Wales Safeguarding Children Board (SEWSCB) is running a competition for the 2014 Safeguarding Awards.

The purpose of the Safeguarding Awards is to engage children and young people to learn about safeguarding issues and from their knowledge and research, create engaging user friendly information for others. These can be in the format of a poem, song, posters, videos, podcast, & anything really that promotes good online safety.

The awards are open for children and young people aged 7 - 18 to enter through their schools, clubs and youth groups that are based in South East Wales area (Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen). This year’s theme is Internet safety and Safety with Technology (e-safety).

Once the competition has closed and winners have been awarded, reviewed entries will be shared via the SEWSCB website so that children, young people, parents / carers and professionals benefit from the broad range of information materials that have been created on e-safety. 

The closing date is the 24th of October 2014 so get registering and creating your online safety video, poster, poem, song or what ever you have decided to do.
